Our mission is to connect the dots between big waste producers on Kauai, and the recycle processing facility. We are a small family run business with two years of experience servicing commercial locations. We are known for our dependability and flexibility. Sunny’s recycles offers your unique location program implementation, regular pickups, community donation contribution; an intentional system designed just for you.
We are honored to be creating a positive impact in our favorite communities here on Kauai, with the intention to divert any recyclable waste possible from taking up space in our local landfill, and give back consistently.

About the Founders
Liz + Nainoa Gaines
Liz and Nainoa actually met several years ago on Kauai while Nainoa was doing a recycle pickup for a local restaurant. Years later we have found ourselves building on that same impact that brought us together. We made connections organically over the past few years as we noticed the lack of recycle program services available for many locations here on Kauai. We now have two years of experience servicing commercial locations and are known for being reliable and efficient.
Less then two years ago Sunny’s recycles was launched and what started with regular pickups at a few restaurants, naturally expanded into servicing a few commercial locations. From condominiums, to shopping centers, to reputable hotels, private associations and neighborhoods.. our legacy is beginning to reveal itself to us in a whole new way.
We named this company after our son, Sunny. Just as our role as parents, we operate this business from a place of true intention and honor. Taking part in preserving Kauai’s natural essence, giving back, and maintaining integrity are non negotiable for us. We are proud that with our HI-5 donation program, we have discovered a way to organize our operations so we can be regularly giving back to our communities financially; while allowing our clients to also feel great about their contributions.

We do our initial recycle pickup and haul away from our client location.
Next
We bring all waste to our sorting location, where we carefully sift through recyclables and categorize them using large bins.
Lastly
We transfer organized recyclables to processing facility, and carry out our HI-5 turnover and donation.

Our mission has blossomed from our intention to give back. That is why we promise that all HI-5 Recycle turnover from clients will be donated to a community foundation.
We donated over $1200 to Hanalei School in 2023 on behalf of the 1 Hotel. We are excited to see our ability to give back grow as time unfolds.
